Tibor/Billy Pate - Tarpon Anti-Reverse Fly Reel - Freestone Vintage Tackle

For sale here is a Billy Pate anti-reverse Tarpon fly reel, made by Tibor. An early RHW reel with all black anodizing (serial #R81). 3 3/4" frame with a spool width of 1", the reel weighs 15oz loaded with backing. Mechanically flawless, the reel has one large ding to the bottom of the frame and the spool release nut/handle show some tool marks. The drag knob and dimpled washer were replaced in 1993 (receipt included with the sale). Many IGFA records were set with Tibor Billy Pate reels, and they are still making the anti-reverse models over 45 years later. A rock solid reel for a variety of saltwater species. Sold in the original brown neoprene case.
