The PENN Squall II rod series was developed for all types of drill and trolling fish from the boat and fits perfectly with the PENN Squall II reels. The rods are fitted with a one piece fiberglass blank and a solid tip to prevent breakage. The robust SeaGuide guides made of stainless steel with aluminum oxide are extremely durable and guarantee perfect line guidance when fighting the largest bluefin tuna. For added comfort, the Squall II boat rods are fitted with a triangular EVA foregrip that reduces rod twisting under pressure. Durable graphite (on the 20-50lb models) or machined aluminum (on the other models) reel seats ensure the reel is held securely, while the gimbal provides extra strength and a secure connection during battle. The smooth shaft prevents the rod shaft from being damaged in the rod holder. The models with a curved shaft have a short, curved shaft made of aluminum and are therefore also very well suited for standing up fights with a large fish.
