S.E. Bogdan is a revered name in the history of fly fishing. As is widely known, the majority of his works have been locked away in collector's cabinets, rarely seen along the shores. Fortunately, his outstanding design philosophy and pursuit of producing the highest quality fishing reels have been passed down. It is worth noting that he never applied for any patents for his designs, undoubtedly because he did not want classical reels to disappear. This admirable generosity has benefited reel makers. We pay tribute to this exceptional engineer and fly fisherman by basing our trout reels on his classic designs, incorporating our own thoughtful modifications to make this beautiful and practical reel style more accessible to fly fishermen.We have made some adjustments based on S.E. Bogdan's design - moderately adjusting the width of the spool and the positions and sizes of some Click & Pawl Drag components. These modifications are not intended to be disrespectful but rather to make it compatible with a wider range of line brands and create a cohesive product line. As you may know, S.E. Bogdan's 2 3/4" reel looks different from the 3 1/4" reel, and we have made moderate adjustments to achieve as much consistency as possible. From the smallest Small Trout Reel to the largest Steelhead Reel, we have created four different-sized reel models to cater to different fishing scenarios.
